Also, I had a discussion with my parents about plowing. Dad said he paid over $3000 for the guy to plow our driveway... last winter alone. Granted we did get a lot more snow than usual, but that's nuts.

I told him "Why not buy a used truck + plow... for less money and you can do it yourself?" "It'll fall apart."

Plowing is big buisness. Cities and towns pay upwards of $60 an hour to their drivers. It's not cheap but they sell trucks with plows everywhere I bet it would cost less than $3k. The smartest thing to do is do it yourself

Questions to ask: Has he ever plowed before? Can you justify the additional upkeep on a truck with a plow? Does he have time to do it? Will it be done on a timely basis each snow so everybody can leave in the morning or when they come come home late? It is not an easy thing. (I did it for 6-7 years when I lived in Michigan)

True story: In my old neighborhood, back around 2007ish, we had a guy try to put a plow on a Modena. I don't remember how he did it, but it ended exactly how you'd expect.
